Living in Fulshear

Fulshear is a Fort Bend County city about 34 miles west of Downtown by car, named for Churchill Fulshear, one of Stephen F. Austin's original "Old Three Hundred" colonists. Once a small farm town, it has become one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas, growing from about 1,100 residents in 2010 to nearly 17,000 by the 2020 census, as master-planned communities such as Cross Creek Ranch, Fulshear Lakes and Jordan Ranch filled in around the historic downtown.

Why buyers choose Fulshear

  • New homes. A wide selection of new construction from many builders, with resort-style amenity centers, lakes and trails.
  • Schools. Most of Fulshear is served by Lamar CISD, including Fulshear High School, and some areas are in Katy ISD. Check zoning for each address.
  • Room to spread out. Larger homes and lots, community pools, parks and miles of trails.
  • West-side access. About 28 miles to the Galleria and 34 to Downtown via the Westpark Tollway, FM 1093 and I-10, with the Energy Corridor closer still.
  • Small-town downtown. Historic Fulshear's local restaurants and events keep its country-town feel.
