The Woodlands Townhomes for Sale

In The Woodlands, townhomes and condos sit near the Waterway and Town Center, where high-rise condos also stand, while the villages are mostly detached homes. The map below shows current townhome listings.

What to know before you tour a Woodlands townhome

The Woodlands is unincorporated, and The Woodlands Township handles parks, fire protection and covenant enforcement. Most properties are governed by the Covenants and Standards, so ask which design-review and association rules apply to a specific townhome. For a condo or townhome, read the association's resale certificate, budget, reserves and insurance, and look for special assessments, before your option period ends.

Homes inside the Township pay a Township tax ($0.1694 per $100 for 2026) plus county and school district taxes and, in villages served by a MUD, that district's tax. Creekside Park is in Harris County; the rest of The Woodlands is mostly in Montgomery County. Some neighborhoods near Spring Creek and Panther Branch flooded in the 2016 Tax Day flood and Hurricane Harvey. Look up each address on the FEMA Flood Map Service Center and the Montgomery County floodplain map or, for Creekside Park, the Harris County Flood Control District's MAAPnext map.

Prices and how we help

Across all home types, 1,330 closed MLS sales with The Woodlands addresses from October 2025 through September 2026 had a typical price near $588,000 and an average near $794,000. We help you get the association's documents and read the shared-wall, maintenance and insurance terms with you before your option period ends.

FAQ: The Woodlands townhomes

Do Woodlands townhomes pay the Township tax and MUD taxes?

Homes inside The Woodlands Township pay its tax, which is $0.1694 per $100 of value for 2026, on top of county, school district and other taxes. Some villages also sit in a MUD, which adds its own rate, and the seller must give you a MUD notice with the district's tax rate before a binding contract is signed. Creekside Park homes pay Harris County and Tomball ISD rates instead of Montgomery County and Conroe ISD rates. Compare the total on each home's tax certificate.

Is a Woodlands townhome in Harris County or Montgomery County?

Most of The Woodlands is in Montgomery County. Its Creekside Park village is in Harris County. The county decides which appraisal district values the home, part of the tax rate and where you file your homestead exemption: the Montgomery Central Appraisal District for most villages, or the Harris Central Appraisal District for Creekside Park. Confirm the county and school district for a specific address.

Do I need approval to change the outside of a Woodlands townhome?

It depends on the property, so ask before you plan changes. For work on a lot with an existing home, the Covenants and Standards require prior written approval from the village's Residential Design Review Committee or its designated staff, and our Woodlands guide lists paint color changes, fences, pools, patios and tree removal among the projects that need it, with some items pre-approved in the Residential Development Standards. A townhome or condo association may have its own rules as well.
